Horror
Vampires are becoming a popular part of teen culture. There are many books, TV shows and films depicting different types of vampires. Through the media and clever marketing vampires are becoming cool and acceptable. Gone are the days of the evil,pale faced vampire, who sleeps in a coffin during the day and terrorises the town by night. The new vampire is not represented as a villain but a likeable hero, who resists the urge to kill humans. What do you think of the current vampire trend? What vampire texts have you read or viewed lately? What are your views on the new vampire image?

I love horror and the whole vampire thing. Seeing a scary movie or book in the middle of the night that is horror. The biggest texts that I have seen are things like TWILIGHT. I think that the vampire image is very cool. I just love things that stop your heart in the middle of the night.
ReplyDeleteWell, I dont really like horror and vampires but i dont mind TWILIGHT. TWILIGHT doesnt have that much of the vampirey stuff but something like "VAN HELSING". That has a lot of vampirey stuff. it sorta scares me. i really do not like horror. watching a scary movie late at night or even during the day would probably give me night mares for days. so horror is definetly NOT my favourite genre.
ReplyDeletewell i think that vampires nowadays are not the traditional way people think about vampires. althow i kinda liked twilight it wasent relly a horror movie like most vampire movies.

and the hole vampire thing is starting to get a bit old but since twlight came out every one has gone all wiered so yer but i am not a really big fan of vampires.

um i sought of like horror i mean i didn't really get sucked in by it.but it was still pretty cool im with jeau on this one.
Do you think that "Twilight" is a good example of a true horror text? Many critics argue that it is too 'watered down and soft' - too 'girly'.

i am not really a big fan of horror and vampires. i dont like it because i am not into the whole finding clues thing. i haven't read any of the twilight books but i have seen the 2nd movie, its was ok but a bit slow.

I love the whole horror and vampire thing I find it awesome and so cool but for some reason I hate the whole 'Twilight' thing I don't know why I just do....but I think that the vampire and horror image is pretty awesome....I absolutely love things that make your heart stop in the middle the night after you have watched a horror movie and wake you up then make you think!!!!
