Romance

You're like music playing in my head

Everywhere I go from day to day.
I try a door and think of you instead,
Not knowing where I am or what I'll say.
I live in a perpetual embrace,
Hugging the sweet thought that you are mine.
Walking through a park I touch your face,
Not caring if there's rain or bright sunshine.
The cause must be, of course, our love is new;
It can't go on like this for years and years.
I must take note of other things than you
And clear my head of smiles and grateful tears.
Yet such talk seems fantasy to me:
The world's the dream, and you reality.

Do you like the genre of romance?
What language techniques does the poet use in this romantic poem? Try to find at least two and give examples from the poem.

  1. umm... romance isnt really my type of thing it can get eewwy at times. though some other types of romances are okay.
some techniques the athour used include:
    ryming! a,a b,b c,c.
it has really describing words. but it says "hugging a sweet thought that you are mine." you cant really hug an thought so i think thats an assonance but not really sure what it is called.

  2. From my point of veiw i dont get the poem at all i am not a fan of romance at all. i think some techniques that have been used are ryming and trying to tell a story. the poem discribes what the people are going through. and what type of relation ship they are in. I think the auther has explained it to its fullest.

  3. I don't really like romance, I think it gets boring because you can't understand most of the words they are saying.I don't really like this poem i think it rymes to much. =)

  4. I don't like the genre romance every much because you usually know what is going to happen in the end. For example the prine gets the princess and the evil stepmother gets nothing. The story cindella is a perfect example of this.
